Can I use a CD-R/W to burn a DVD, Or do I have to have a cd/DVD-R

Your post is a little confusing but maybe this will help

If you want to make a copy of a dvd and put it on a dvd-r the you have t strip it, rip it and burn.You alo need to have a dvd-rom and dvd-recorder.

If you want to make a copy of a movie and put it onto cd-r or cd-rw this would then be called a vcd. You would need a dvd-rom to rip or an divx,avi,mpg file.Then convert and burn it to cd-r or cd-rw using a cd
burner.
