  1. With so Many copys of VCDS etc.. from different groups how do you know which ones are the best quality before you download? VCD Vault,Centropy? HOw can you tell what your getting?

  3. You can grab the sample before you waste the bandwidth on the whole enchilada. Another place to check is http://www.vcdquality.com .

  5. if your using usenet

    download just the first .rar file -- open it in WinRAR -- select 'keep broken files' - then hit extract

    if it's an mpeg then just watch it and see if you like the qulity

    if it's bin/cue - open up VCDGear and run it through bin/cue->mpeg -- then watch the resulting mpeg

    (both resulting mpegs will be small and incomplete but they are good enough to sample the quality)

    that way you never have to download more than just the rar file to see if you like the quality -- or maybe .r00 also

    if you aren't using Usenet or your not downloading the files in rar format then ignore my answer.
