  2. The limitation is down to the file system you use not the codec. If you have a fat 32 file system (win98) you are limited to 4GB, if you have an NTFS file system (win2000 or XP), although there is a limit I think it's in the terrabytes, so for arguments sake you can make a video file as large as you like. I have captured a 45GB huffy AVI file using XP with NTFS.

  3. Looks good but which prog do you use to capture? What I mean is: I did some capturing with freevcr (not with Huffyuf codec, with divx) using XP but the filesize limit was 2GB. I captured to a ntfs disk. I know I can capture to segmented files with freevcr but I don't want to. What goes wrong?

  4. I have used IUVCR and virtualdub to capture large AVI files. Make sure in the software that you use that you do not have a file size limit selected. Or if you do, that it is beyond the size of the file that you want to capture.

  5. Thanx, I will try Virtual Dub with the huffyuf codec. Has it also something to do with the difference between "normal" AVI and Opendml AVI? Or is it just the o.s. file format and the capture prog I use?
