I want to download "pygmy kitabu" written by Hallett and found on archive org here:

    https://archive.org/details/pygmykitabu0000hall

And I have used a firefox and a chrome addon and they fail.

I have tried IDM which I was told could do it but it only downloaded the site landing page, not the book.
I tried Jdownloader and it stopped on an error.

and of course I tried our yt-dlp but it can't find anything to download.

I know this is not really the forum for this job but I'm hoping to find someone here with expertise in both fields. Because I"m out of ideas where else to look.

    Any clues/pointers would be good...

p.s. I recommend the book. What little I read while in 'loan' mode it seems really good... if you're into anthropology and such...

Hello, thank you for that. Very impressive and tantalisingly close: only it wants a login. I tried my login with archive.org and it wouldn't accept it. IDM gave me some stuff about being able to set my own with a right click but I couldn't find the place to do that.
I will try making a new user on archive org in case I've misremembered my password. that's all i can think of....

edit: see how dumb I am? finally woke up. all I have to do is right click and 'download as'. sorry. and thanks.

    That's strange.
    Archive.org doesn't require any login.
I'm not even registered and I download whatever I want from it.

Do you really? I'll have to try it. I religiously log in every time I use it. I'm just wasting my time? Phew.

Why it asked for a log in I don't know. I cannot explain it. But I'm past it all now anyway, looks like. I still have the right click and 'download as' to try but meanwhile, over night, my firefox archive.org downloader extension is now working well. It starts and completes the downloads even though taking a few minutes. Yesterday it was failing on them all.

Today I have already got the two main books I was worrying about: pygmy kitabu and congo kitabu so I"m well happy.
