  1. Hi,

I'm having problems making a back up of Kiss of the Dragon.

my DVD of the movie is a (UK) PAL version.

I've ripped the DVD with SmartRipper (v2.41)

then I'm trying to encode with DVDx (v1.eight - seems to bring up a smilie with the figure!)

It keeps on bringing up the error message that no audio track is found. My settings are more or less exactly as specified in Sefy's guide @ http://www.vcdhelp.com/sefy/?id=copying6.html .... I've tried just clicking "OK" as it says that there is sometimes a silence at the beginning of a DVD. However, this produces an mpg with no audio.

I've tried this from the IFO/VOB's that SmartRipper has copied to my HD, and straight from the DVD, but to no avail.

WinDVD (v2.4) reads from the VOB on my HD with sound, so it seems it's just a problem with DVDx. It doesn't give me this error message with other movies (eg. Spy Game & Crouching Tiger).

I've thought about multiplexing (with TMPGEnc v2.54) the audio back into the video later (as other app's such as cladDVD XP (v1.3) seem to be able to extract the audio), but I don't want to lose quality or time if I can avoid doing this!

    Any help would be appreciated!

PS. I plan to burn the VCD 2.0 with Nero (v.5.5.8.2)

    thx,

    druid

  2. From what you are saying, it sounds as if the Sound track on your DVD is a DTS soundtrack, which means, no program can yet handle that format, try finding a diffrent AC3 audio track.
