  1. OK. I had some MPEG's and they played greta on my PC.

I split them and still they played great!

I burned them in NTSC format and when I tried them in my DVD player they were blakc and white? I tried seting the player in PAL but they still sent black and white! What gives?

    What could be causing this?

  2. By the way I used VCD cutter 4.03 to split the files and

Nero Rom Burner ver 5.5.4.0 to burn them

  4. This is probably because your TV-Set doesn't get the NTSC signal correct. I had this problem and what I did was that I went out and bought a full-SCART cable. Cheapo SCART cables doesn't carry all pins, which are required if you want to play NTSC on a PAL TV set. The problem could also be that your TV doesn't support NTSC, but I'd say that this is highly unlikely if it isn't older than 5 years, check your TV manual. I have also seen people saying that some DVD-players can be set to 'force' output in PAL when playing NTSC, but I have no experience with this myself, again check the manual for your DVD.

  6. TwoLaneBlackTop, I have the same problem. I live in the US and i have a Philips DVD 751. It plays NTSC DVD's well. Ive only SUCCESSFULLY made 2 VCD's that play in FULL COLOR on my DVD Player. Unfortunately though, the ones that dont play in color on my DVD player, play fine in my mom and dad's DVD player [which is a sony]. I think the problem could be the dvd player i have, Might possibly be the same problem as yours. I would say go on Kazaa and download a music video then try to burn it as an NTSC using Nero. Make sure you enable CD-I AND Compliant CD. Thats what i did when they burned in color, unfortunately this does not work for all of the formats. Ive tried re-encoding the ones that dont play in color, but they still do not play in color on my dvd player, but they play fine on my mom and dad's sony dvd player, its very frustrating ;\
