  1. Hi all, after 5+ days trying to learn everything in this forum and stickies, I feel like I'm so close to the end result of decrypting my first video. I've followed A_n_g_e_l_a's 'Decryption and the Temple of Doom' thread (which is brilliant for newbies) and I've done everything as explained in the guide and other guides. I've downloaded the video using N_m3u8DL-RE and that downloads the video, audio and subtitles files perfectly to my PC. In step 6 of the guide it advises to "Individually decrypt the audio and video streams using mp4decrypt and the keys you have just obtained!". I did this first with the video and that works as expected. The video is now decrypted and plays fine, albeit with no sound. I then tried to decrypt the audio and it said "ERROR: cannot open input file (encrypted.m4a) -4". I looked at the file and I noticed it was saved as encrypted.en instead of .m4a. So I tried it again and changed the name of the file to .en in the command but it came back with the same error. I then changed the file to .m4a and tried again but ended up with the same result. I just need to decrypt the audio and then I can try and merge them together. I've never felt so close to the end than I have now. I've tried finding anyone who's posted about the same issue in this forum and on Google and I can't see a fix or what I'm potentially doing wrong. Thanks in advance.

  2. The best way to do this is to actually give the --key option directly to N_m3u8DL-RE, it will handle downloading and decrypting, example:

    Code:
    N_m3u8DL-RE -mt -M format=mkv --key xxxxxx:yyyyyy mpdurl.mpd
Just make sure you have both mp4decrypt and ffmpeg in the same folder as N_m3u8DL-RE or in PATH.

Thanks white_snake, that worked perfectly. Appreciate your help and advice the past couple of days.
