U-Matic colour output issue

Howdy! So I went down a rabbit hole of QC'ing some U-Matic transfers which has opened up a whole can of worms. For a bit of background: our transfer rack consists of a VO-9850 -> dub output to a DPS-210 transcoder then into a DPS-235 TBC -> S-Video input to an Analog-to-SDI convertor -> finally into a BlackMagic capture card. I was initially seeking solutions for a skew error that an excellent thread by DopeNessMonster here might have provided.

Unfortunately, that is just the start of my woe, as I've realised our VO-9850 is only outputting in B&W. (our test tape begins in B&W anyway, so I didn't notice when running it through). We have a separate machine we use for reviewing tapes that is outputting in colour, so I'll swap those around for now. But, has anyone had any issues with B&W output only on these machines before? Any idea if this is an easy/doable fix or something to have a technician look at? Thanks!

A quick update to this: I tested the composite output as well and had the same issue with black and white, so that likely rules out the dub output. I tried the composite output on a VP-7020 and got colour just fine.
