From what I understand in Europe there is a series called monkey which is based off of "journey to the west". I was wondering if the series was truly called monkey and if anyone knows how I can obtain at least one or two episodes of it. I haven't found it for sale or otherwise.

  3. I remember a series like that called "Monkey Power". It was a cartoon-CGI release. I think either Pioneer or Bandai released it here in the U.S. It was based off of "Journey To The West", but it did not get good ratings, so it was pulled. To many people were into Dragonball, which was loosely based on the same story.

  4. I think I found the series that you are looking for. It was called Monkey Magic. Here's some links to it:

The series I was thinking of was also called Monkey Magic, but it was a cartoon. Here's a link to it if you are curious:

  7. Yea I saw that program, when I was 14 I thought monkey was the dogs bollocks, watched it every friday night before going to the youth club and dancing to madness. Watching the show now is still pretty enjoyable but for the wrong reasons. The special effects and dialogue are hilarious. I remember when I was younger thinking that the young monk was a bit girly, didnt realise until that show this it actually was a girl.

    Ahhhhhh pigsy

  9. they released this whole series on DVD here. I wouldnt buy it cause i cant afford $20 for three episodes.

Moneky used to be on everyday, right before The Goodies.

you are right, as a child i used to enjoy the show, but as an adult it just doesnt have the same appeal.

Reminds me of a friend of mine who used to fancy Limahl from kajagoogoo, till he found out it was a bloke. God, he got years of stick for that.

Sadly the girl died after the series ended from cancer. She really was bald.
