Streams behind HTTP AUTH cannot be retrieved?

It seems to me that streams where you have to authenticate via simple HTTP authentication (in browser) cannot be retrieved.

Tried latest yt-dlp: MPD is behind HTTP AUTH, you just pass USER:PASS@SITE.TLD, it successfully downloads MPD but subsequent HTTP queries do not pass AUTH credentials and video parts cannot be downloaded.
Tried latest N_m3u8DL-RE.exe: it cannot handle HTTP AUTH at all.

Anybody been successful at downloading these types of streams?

Try --cookies-from-browser BROWSER maybe?

You can try dash-mpd-cli. The latest release has support for Basic HTTP authentication (see --auth-username and --auth-password commandline options).

Maybe it is possible with yt-dlp and aria2 as sub-downloader, if you can pass the right sub-arguments.
