guide to news groups?

any body got one? i've been trying to figure out how to get the files and is there a good way to search? any good groups? TIA

Hopefully maybe an expert will jump in here and help you but in the meantime you can try Xnews, a free newsgroup reader, that will combine and decode binary files. You can download it and read the manual which contains a quick start guide here: http://xnews.newsguy.com/. Don't ask me any questions though as I'm new to it also and still trying to figure it out myself. .

The search for files just got a lot harder.
Binnews.net made finding releases easy, but they just closed shop.
Binnews.com is a paysite that can make life easier, but it's a lame paysite.
