I want to watch my vcd's on my television in my room from my computer. I bought a 32 megabyte nvidia 3d card off ebay, I don't know the brand. I bought a s-video signal converter, rca cord and s-video cord and hooked the card up to my vcr, and got no picture!! What am I doing wrong? Do I need a specific cable?

You probably have to change the settings for your video card, so that it will output to the S-Video. The way I do it (in Windows 98), is to right click on the desktop and select properties. Then choose the "Settings" tab, then click the "advanced" button. From there I click the "displays" tab, which allows me to turn my S-Video output on or off, as well as the standard monitor out. I expect that it will be the same for any version of Windows; the options will be available by getting to the graphics card settings, probably in the same place as you change the resolution et cetera.
