In Windows 7, Movie Maker will edit Tivo files. In Windows 10, it won't. It works for other types of videos, but not Tivo. Also, Windows Media Player plays Tivo videos in Windows 7, but not in Windows 10. Any way to fix these things?

If these are MPEG-2 files, all you may need to do to play the videos is download and install Microsoft's MPEG-2 Extension from the Microsoft Store. I can't recall what it cost but it was either free or cheap. I'm not sure about how to edit with Windows Movie Maker because I use a non-free editor (VideoReDo TV Suite) for editing recorded TV shows. I don't have a TiVo but .tivo files are supported.
