I purchased the Pioneer DVR-A04 with the hopes of backing up my data and making dvds. I have no problem authoring and backing up DvD movies for set top playback but to backup Divx files or application files is impossible. I have made 20 to 30 coaster with nero and vob instant cd/dvd trying to back up divx and application files. I even purchased some DVD-RW to backup files and when I burn them onto disc it will not work and I cant erase the disc.


Please Help!!!

Unless you have a hardware problem I don't understand why you cannot create data DVDs or cannot erase DVD-RWs. I am hoping that the problem is software related. Did you drive come with a copy of PrimoDVD? If so I would recommend using it to test for a possible software problem. If you do not have Primo then uninstall Nero & get the latest version you can find & try again. If it works then you can blame Nero, if not then return the drive.
