Ive been useing TMPGEnc for some time now to encode
the dvd film ive have ripped. And have had no problems with it up untill now.
I had a 17,gig h/d and was finding i didnt have the space i needed ,
so ive just brought and fitted a new 60gig seagate h/d running at 7200
great all the space i need, but now when im encodeing with tmpgenc
it seems to run for about 2-3 hours then freezes, try about 4 times now and it always freezes some were along the line.
Ive tryed 2 split the film into 2 so it dosent have so much to encode
but that didnt work it still locks up.
i tend to leve it runnig over night so the machine is not being use for any thing els. before i change the h/drive it always work fine.
I use smart ripper to rip the DVD, then DVD2AVI then TMPGEnc.
All ive have done is replace the h/drive and now it locks up when encodeind. HELP
THANKS

i dont know why your new HD would cause that problem. Two suggs uninstall the progs and reinstall, or use different progs. I dont know why people use dvd2avi unless it is to get a wav instead of an ac3 file, am i correct? if this is the case doesnt tmpeg convert ac3 to mpg? or if your tired of tmpeg use rempeg. I like the results i getr from it. Hope this helps.

Do you use your new HD as a add-on or to be your new C drive with the re-installation of OS? How about making your new harddrive as add-on drive (not slave but add-on with separate IDE cable) and boot using the old HD?
