    this software can up convert video. if i have an avi file 688x512. could i upconvert this 720p and see any improvement? im kinda in the dark about what this up convert can do.

    There's nothing special about upsampling the video resolution, lots of video encoders can do that.

    However, since they can't put in information that wasn't there in the original, it's quite unlikely you'll get an improvement. It'll probably look worse actually because you're re encoding it.

    Upsampling the res is mostly useful for device compatibility.
