  1. I used to have an old analog camcorder that I used to import video into the computer in the form of Divx and edit the Divx files with Premiere. However, Premiere made the editing go very very very slow..like it would pause at certain points and wouldn't let me click on anything. If I clicked on too many things while it was pausing, it would crash.

Now I just got a new Digital camcorder (Sony TRV-DC25 in case anyone cares) and I just ordered a firewire card and cable online. I plan on importing movies into my computer via the DV video format.

Will I see a speed increase when editing with DV files instead of Divx ones? If so, how much of an increase?

  2. One more thing...I have about 30-40 GB hard disk space available to edit my movies. How much imported DV video will I be able to fit on this drive?[/b]
