  1. Hello and happy holidays to my favourite people at VideoHelp~!

I've got a serious issue that I didn't think I'd have to tackle, but here I am.

Earlier this year, I had an issue with one particular tape in which the deck would freeze, be stuck on a single frame and completely stay there while the tape seemed to still be running on the inside of the machine. After that, the issue didn't really come up again; That is, until now.

Now, I have an issue where two consecutive tapes will do this multiple times.

I have no idea whether this is the tapes acting up for whatever reason or the deck failing me. And just for reference, I got this deck new in the box and have only been using it for about less than a year, so I'm essentially the first owner/user of the thing.

Anybody know what's up? I have both attached the exhibit video to this thread and put it on Vimeo for everyone's convenience.

This is not the tape's fault, It's a TBC fault, To diagnose this further you need to run some tests to figure out if it's the line TBC inside the VCR or the frame sync in the capture app (if applicable).

    - When you turn off the TBC inside the VCR does the problem go away?
    - When you connect the VCR to the TV with the VCR TBC/DNR on, does the problem occur?
    - And lastly, how are you capturing the tapes? firewire output of the deck or a capture card and software?
