  1. Hi, hopefully someone can answer this. I am trying to convert an .avi file according to the conversion instructions "Convert to SVCD the foolproof way with CCE 2.5"

I have followed the instructions to the "T" but when I get to the part where you are supposed to load the .vdr file into CCE, CCE crashes every single time.

I am running XP Pro on a 1GHz Thunderbird with 256MB RAM.

    Frameserver window states the following:

    Frameserver name: xxxxxxxxx.avi
Non-A/V requests: 6 (this will change in increments of 6 every time I start CCE and it crashes)
    Number of frames serverd: 0
    Audio segments delivered: 0
    Frameclients installed: AVIFile only

any idea on what I am doing wrong or am I missing something? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  2. Well, I am sorry to not be able to answer your question. I thought I would give you the benefit of knowing that you are not alone. I too cannot get CCE 2.5 to accept the frameserving thing - it just sits there for a second then crashes.... Everything I read makes me frustrated cos I am doing exactly what is written.

WinXP Pro, Dual AthlonXP 1600, 512Mb DDR.

I am desparately trying to convert a 25fps PAL DVD into an NTSC DVD-R and getting nowhere fast. It is always very jerky, and I am quite frustrated with it.....

Sorry couldnt actually answer your question.....

  3. Put in this line if you haven't already:

    ResampleAudio(44100)

If that doesn't fix it, I don't know what the problem is.

  4. Thanks for the reply.

I tried what you suggested - same result. It just crashes...
(I only wanted to encode video with this frameserving/CCE thing anyway; the audio I would do via CoolEdit, and SoftEncode)

    bummer.

    Hi,

I've seen a number of references to CCE but can't see anything under 'Tools' that matches so...

Please tell me/us what is CCE and where can I get more info?

    Thanks

  6. 'CCE' is an abbreviateion for 'Cinema Craft Encoder' and there are a few verisons floating around: 2.50, 2.62 and 2.64. Others have posted messages about whay you might want to use one over the other.

BTW, I finally DID get CCE to accept and AVIsynth avs file and have got a pretty good PAL to NTSC conversion going.....

  7. You might find your answer in this thread on the CCE board at doom9's forums. http://rilanparty.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14712

  8. Hello, does anybody out there know how I can get CCE 2.5 to stop crashing when I try to open an .avs file in it. I'm currently running WinXP on a 1Ghz Celeron with 256mb Ram. I'm trying to back up my DVD's to SVCD and am very new to Avisynth scripting but I followed everything as it said to do on doom9's guide for frameserving with Avisynth and it still isn't working. Can someone PLEASE!!! help me I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've tried just about everything.
    Thanks.

    P.S. Getting very desperate!

  9. as the guide on this page says to leave audio as no audio in virtual dub and then frameserver to CCE, I would imagine thats what you are doing because everytime I loaded the file into CCE it would just crash, no errors just crash. So that part of the guide seems wrong to me. in virtual dub if you set audio to direct stream copy and then frameserve to CCE and in CCE's options just uncheck audio and it will still only do video. I would imagine that the frameserving problem would be the same with vdr or avs.
if thats not the case then sorry
