it seams when i play vcds through my apex 500a, it gets real horrible quality anytime there is movement. but when there is a still on there, its perfect...kinda like a 33mhz computer playing a movie...what can i do to make this better

most likely thats actually the movie, i have a 660 and a friend with a 500w, and the 500w gives better quality. if its blockiness then its NOT the player, try using a composit in instead of SVID or RCA, it will "smooth" out the picture a little.

I'm assuming they're home made VCDs. If so, when you encode, try turning "detect scene change" and try SVCDs. I get much better picture quality this way.
