    when capturing from tv at a resolution 352x288 do i have to crop/add borders to it to get a correct aspect ratio or will the dvd-player resize it to get 4:3?
    i`m a bit confused cause somewhere i read that i have to do it and somewhere else, that i dont.

    You don't need to change anything. Not sure exactly what you read where - but this VCD PAL aspect ratio is correct
