Getting Youtube-dl to COMPLETE the download of the streaming video.

Rare amongst numerous video downloaders, Youtube-dl can download from ABC iView in Australia as MP4s playable in VLC; however, its recording stops prematurely. How can it be made to record the entire video ?

I can not follow what passes for instructions for HDS detector link, so abandoned that after being totally flabbergasted. I tried to download an SBS-on-demand with the YouTube-Dll, and got nowhere with it. Unexpectedly IDM did download it ! The link for SBS was https://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/video/735650371809/hitlers-secret-drug-habit

Well, quite confusing. In your first post you wanted to download a video from ABC iView, now you are referring to SBS. Works as expected with youtube-dl, so I guess the problem lies on your side.

I admit my first post was about iView and my recent one related an experience with SBS. I do not understand what your code shows. The problem may well be 'on my side', that makes it no less 'worthy' of a solution. 'Works as expected' - so you can download both iView and SBS-on-demand COMPLETELY and successfully ? That itself is worth knowing.

Yes, of course ... that's exactly what these logs show! I've edited my second post, so you can clearly see, youtube-dl downloads 100% of the existing file. It would help, if you can provide full status report, as that contains details to pinpoint where the issue lies on your side. Short comments like in your first post (without further details, not even a link) are not really helpful.
