  1. So far I have tried the following movies....Fast and the Furious, Atlantis, and Up In Smoke Tour (all of them are dvd rips in Avi. format)

What I'm trying to do is split them in half and convert to mpeg (basically vcds)

I'm using Nanodub, splits them in half perfectly (thanks Celtic). When I burn with Tpgenc I get no sound!.....Aight I try to split the audio (using both Tpgenc and nanodub) and the video and then burn the audio wav file seperately Still no sound! When I split and burn the audio and video files into Svcd I get this mp2 file which says can't open into a win32???? I'm using XP. When I do the same thing in Vcd I get no audio and the 350mb file expands to 1.16g file...any help??

I use to use avi chop, but when I use it now I have no sound from both file that is chopped all this started happened ever since I upgraded to XP from millenieum (I've already did the compatibilty from properties still no dice), any advice..............??

  2. um ok, do this-

Use v-dub first, import one of ur avis.
Choose full processing mode and save wav.

When wav is done, play it back.
If it plays, encode it as an mp2 file of ONLY 44100 HZ then do ur video and multiplex

  3. As said, split the audio and video from the .avi into seperate files and downsample the audio file to 44.1khz. Then encode with Tmpgenc with seperate audio and video input streams. Only then, when you have 1 large Mpeg should you use TmpGnec MPEG tools should you split it into two files to fit your CD's.

  4. When I open up vdub with the file(s) (Atlantis, Fast and the furious, Swordfish) it says Virtual dub has detected an improper VBR enocoding in the source avi. file and will rewrite the audio header with standard CBR values during process for better compatibility etc, etc....
