What would be the advantages to burn an edited clip back on a tape. I mean when using a dvd camera and mini DV tapes rather than to burn it on a VCD or DVD?

Thanks for the answer, but still I don't understand then why so many idiots(friendly used here) are using all those CD's if they are going to lose anyway in quality!

..because you cannot play a miniDV tape on a standalone DVD player (and I said that in a friendly way also)

Also tape is a megnetic medium and so more susceptible to corruption via magnetic interference, dirt and wear than an optical medium such as CD's. So CD's make a better archive format in that respect
