I know this belongs under Off-Topic, but no Mac user would ever see it. It would get a bunch of PC crap that I don't want.

I have an external Firewire drive and want to use it in my vcd process. My problem is that when I use the MPEG2 decoder once the file size gets to 1.99G an error occurs saying that the file can't be written. I think I've had this problem before. My internal hard drive works fine with files of any size, but the external can't handle >2G. How could I make it work with the larger files?

I use a Maxtor Firewire external drive, and when I first plugged it in, it asked me if I wanted to format it for DOS (as in PCs), HFS+ or some sort of hybrid format. HFS+ will allow files > 1.99gb. DOS will not. Dunno about the hybrid format.

Yeah I remembered after I posted this message that I formatted this drive for Mac OS standard. I should have done Mac OS Extended. So I'm gonna reformat the drive to the Mac OS Extended format.
