How to download videos from Tumblr ( using youtube-dl )?

Hello, dear all.


How to download videos from Tumblr? Using youtube-dl and other freeware programs.


When I try to use DLNow Video Downloader the program says: "unable to download" such videos.


Using youtube-dl-gui I can do it without problems.

Haven't been on Tumblr in awhile, but with most download managers (I use JDownloader), you can simply right click on a file and copy the link. Depending on how the page is created, the links could be hidden, in which case, most download programs won't find anything to download.

In any case, you seem to have already found a program that works.

But concerning about youtube-dl do you know to work using this program on Tumblr videos and other elements from that site?


I mean, do you point some tutorial or guide about using youtube-dl to grab videos on Tumblr?


I want to know how to use this program itself, because using some GUI's I could do it properly, except using DLNow Video Downloader, that does not work on Tumblr in my case nowadays. Some months ago, it used to work, but not anymore. For other sites it works nicely.
