  1. I have Magnavox ZV427MG9 DVD/VCR Recorder. I have a Directv D12-600 standard satelite receiver. I am able to record programs from it. I have an out door antenna to receive local TV stations. How can I record the local programs thru my satelite receiver? I have an RCA RF modulator which I have tried to use but I have not had any success. Can anyone Help?

Does the Directv D12-600 standard satellite receiver have an ATSC tuner module installed which allows it to tune over-the-air broadcasts from your local TV stations via an antenna connection? If not, the answer to your question is "No". ... and you'll need an ATSC converter box to produce standard definition analog output from which the Magnavox ZV427MG9 DVD/VCR Recorder can record.

Two examples of converter boxes, which are also able to record programming in HD themselves if you buy compatible storage for them:
