  1. I feel like I'm so close, yet so far, here's an example episode url;

    HTML Code:
    http://www.mtv.ca/shows/real-world/video/london/the-real-world-london-ep16/1648796/0/1
    And via Chrome, I've been able to get this rtmpe link

    HTML Code:
    rtmpe://cp5290.edgefcs.net/ondemand/mtviestor/_!/mtv.ca/Shows/flv/realworld/S4London/417/RWLondon_417_01
    Is there anyway to get a "MediaGen" link? I have rtmpdump and know how to use it, but MTV.ca has been tricky, I can't seem to find the actual .mp4 or .flv file. Does the fact that I'm in the US and I'm trying to access a Canadian video have anything to do with it?

    If you already have rtmpdump, you can easily use youtube-dl to download it. I keep youtube-dl and rtmpdump both in the same folder to make it simple.

    Just run youtube-dl with the following command line:
    Code:
    youtube-dl -f rtmpe rtmpe://cp5290.edgefcs.net/ondemand/mtviestor/_!/mtv.ca/Shows/flv/realworld/S4London/417/RWLondon_417_01
    The downloaded video (.flv) is 8:24 long. Does that sound about right?

    It does since that's one act, however I am getting ":event not found" when I type that code into terminal.

    The downloaded video is more than 23 minutes, consists of 4 parts (417_ 1 ... 417_4)

    For merge I used SMMVSplitter

    Thank you for this;

    I finally got the command to work however now I'm getting this

    Any ideas?

    EDIT: Looks like a DNS Failure on their end. Hopefully not because of what we're doing? Is this activity traceable? Or coincidence?

    What did you use to merge the 4 flv files? Or were you able to download all four at once?
