You need a analog (VHS) to digital (VCD) converter. There are many available. I am going to get the Pinnacle Studio Deluxe wich captures analog in DV Format for my Hi8 tapes. Also look into the Dazzle DVCII, Dazzle DVC, ADS Instant DVD, and Canopus ADVC-100. All these have analog inputs that will convert VHS to either MPEG-1, MPEG-2, or DV. Remember, you will never get a final VCD better than the original VHS, maybe worse depending on equipment. Look around here for reviews, and keep in mind your system specs. I would recomend a Real-time Mpeg-1 converter like the DVC or Instant DVD. These will give good results (not the best), be in the right Mpeg-1 format for VCD, and take up alot less memory than DV Format. You will probably get better results if you convert to DV and then down to MPEG-1, but it is timely and expensive. You might need to try and return a few before you get the right one.
