    Anybody knows how to do this on a mac?

    I tried YouTube to MP4 & MP3 Converter and Video Download - ClipConverter.cc but for some reason it doesn't work.

    Any other ways to do this? I don't want to download the whole youtube video, just parts of it?

    Typically, you would get the entire video, and then edit.

    You could likely get parts of a video using an actual capture tool like Replay Media Catcher.

    Install youtube-dl and ffmpeg, then from the command line:

    Code:
    ffmpeg -ss [start time] -i $(youtube-dl -f 22 --get-url https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=[desired ID]) -t [duration] -c copy mydownload.mp4
