  2. Uh... I gotta call bullshit on that one.

Post an example so we can check out the quality.

To fit just 180 minutes (not counting trailers) you'd have to have an effective average bitrate of just 460 kbt/s and that's using 96 kbt/s sound. Not even MPEG4 divx with two pass can produce a visually acceptable 2 hour disk using that low of a bitrate, much less three hours of a movie that has lots of action.

Kwag's template is 'da bomb' but it does not allow you to alter the concepts of mathematics.

Like I said: I call bullshit.

  3. Well I did 149 mins (not 151 as previosly posted ) on 1 cd. That is what the Farscape clip was from on his site. I sure as hell would like to see Pearl Harbour fit on 1 cd. Farscape was a sci-fi - hence lots of dark space scenes to save bitrate on, but Pearl Harbour ?? Dunno haven't actually watched it all the way through.
    What were your exact settings??

  6. Really... I use the Original Afwasborstel method. It's working fine for me. I'm finetuning now...and maybe when I really don't have nothing to do I might get 20 movies on 1 cd.

  9. Could'nt get to da forumz earlier. K, first, i didnt think it was possible to compress that much into a cdrw, but with his template it was.

Now, I'll be the first to say that i like doing high quality svcd's on two or three cdr's, i tried to stick to two, but some flix fit nice on one cdr, svcd compliant 480x480. But, however many, point is, i'm into quality mpgz, 3hrs is pushing it, but Kwag needed some data, and i'm in the middle of doing testing with various encoders and templates, so i threw it in da fire.
But hey, to each their own i guess. Kwag's template(s) provide an excellent method to squeeze more time on a cd while balancing quality and xvcd mpg1, for those players that cant play high quality svcds.

I tested Pearl Harbor to see if it could be done, and it can. I havent watched the movie other than to make sure it played back because my apex doesnt play back mpg1 vbr well. Its choppy and off synch by about two secs or so. But this PH test would probably play like an old sheitty vhs tape.

Quickly burnt it with nero, and snapped a screenshot, to show the filesizes and to show that nero reported some free space on the cdrw.

I threw up some quick 30 sec clipz on a briefcase on yahoo. Its okay quality. They play back fine and in synch for me on wmp, & powerdvd.
I had to remux to fix the headers on the (Disc2) mpg. But other than that the encodes went fine.

    ZtR...
