When I stream PBS in full screen mode on my Win7 PC, the JWPlayer program PBS uses does not hide my cursor for some incomprehensible reason. It also doesn't allow any space for the cursor to be moved off-screen. AutoHideMouseCursor doesn't work for me either. I don't have this problem with YouTube or anywhere else, only with JWPlayer on PBS. On other sites the cursor disappears after a few moments like it is supposed to. Does anyone know any way of doing something about this?

Likely a glitch in the player. You could use a third party app such as this: http://www.cnet.com/how-to/set-your-mouse-cursor-to-hide-automatically/
