I bought only 3 DataSafe DVD-rw when i bought my A04 thought they would be great for the times i wanted to convert SVCD mpeg to DVDr just as a tester before writing to a DVD-r.
I wrote to all three RW correctly the first time, with no problems, and they work fine in all my setups. i then burned the images to Princo media, and thought about using the DVD-rw again for my next project.
Erase/Format Time
OK using many pieces of software (Prassi, Nero, Instand) i tried erasing the media for use again, but alot of the time i just got an error message saying the disk completed erase with errors, with both Quick and Full erase methods.
I have only managed to erase and use again one of the disks, and that took me at least 10 goes at erasing.
What am I doing wrong or are you people using someother piece of software to erase your disks.
Just incase this has anything to do with it, running Windows XP, with Nero 5.5.8.0 Instand Vob 6.4 and Prassi DVD 2.0

Sounds like you have bad media. If the media is guaranteed, then I would require an exchange. Not erasing is either a bad laser or bad media. Since you seem to be able to burn with DVD-Rs, it PROBABLY isn't a bad laser. Fortunately, you only bought three disks. Try a different brand of DVD-RW.
Who makes the DATASAFE disks?
