Hi, i have problem witrh my TV, 16:9 videos look great, but another aspect ratios don't,
21:9, 23.5:1, etc, look "stretched" (Vertically), so, is not showing the up and down blackbars.

I know is a problem of my TV, but some people did this, and worked for them, but not for me, is there anoher way? (Especially without reencode), thanks!!.

    PLEASE give more information.

Does it stretch ALL video? How do you play them? Standalone dvd/blu-ray player? MEdia player?

  3. It's probably the TV and there's probably a button on the remote you've pressed accidentally. For me it's P/Size (picture size) and from memory pressing it steps through options such as 4:3, 16:9, and a couple that stretch/zoom the picture to fill the screen.

On my Sony the button on the remote appears as a screen with vertical and horizontal lines going through it.

Invoke the button gives you 4 choices: Auto, Wide, Smart and Zoom.

Check out the first two with a video wider than 16:9

From USB directly from the TV

it only does this, with videos directly from USB media
    what are the video specs,
this sounds like a format problem or an aspect flag problem
maybe the TV can not read or ignores any aspect flags

See if it plays mkv files

If so you might be able to fix the ratio using mkvmerge part of MKVToolnix.

If not then you have 3 choices.

    1: Live with it
    2: Re-encode
3: Integrate a media player, htpc, or link directly from pc to retain correct display ratio

    Other.

MPEG4 Modifier can do the same for general avi files
