    Greetings ....

I've only recently discovered that some personal information of mine -- including age, address, phone number -- is showing up on various internet people search sites.

How can such information be removed from these sites without any charges and/or big hassles??

I doubt you can. Once it's out there, it can circulated around to different sites for a long time. There is nothing really illegal about this.
But you can go to one of the sites and claim the information is wrong. If they let you change it, now you can put in the wrong info.

A bit late, but in the future don't volunteer that sort of information to any site that doesn't guarantee to keep it private.

To other readers of this thread, you might want to do a search for your name and see what pops up. It can be a bit scary.

Maybe over in 'Blighty' we have a tighter system due to the Data Protection Act.

Unless you are a TalkTalk customer (Jeez. I am just one)

I did a quick Google and I did find me. However the info on that site came from the Electorial Roll which is available to anyone at a price. So not much I can do 'bout that. But info is still restricted there. No tel-no, email addo.

Whenever I google my relatives and friends names and I always get a hit with all kinds of personal info.
And this is the free stuff.
