  1. Hi,

I've used dvdshrink to remove some unwanted footage from multiple digital tv recordings and when running the video_ts folders through makemkv i'm given seperate titles for each part of the recording.

What would be the best tool to join the vobs seamlessly as I already have the full dvd structures with vobs, ifo's etc?

I'm aware I can merge the mkv's through mkvmergegui but I would rather alter the dvd structures at source if possible.

I've used tools like ifoedit in the past so not sure if I can use something like that?

    Thanks

Vob2Mpeg will give you one mpeg file from a DVD-video. DVDVob2Mpeg is another, similar program.

Are you going to make a new dvd with one titleset? Then I think you have to reauthor it with something like dvdstyler.

  4. I have no plans to burn a new dvd.

The only reason I used dvdshrink was to get rid of commercials, and other programs like mpegstreamclip and mpg2cut2 gave me audio sync issues.

If I was to use dvdvob2mpeg to create a single file, would I need to demux the streams before creating an mkv with mkvmergegui?

Nope. You can add the mpg directly in mkvmergegui and make an mkv.

But I think dvdvob2mpg and vob2mpg creates a mpg for each title....but try and see.

I use VOB2MPG to convert recordings made by my Magnavox DVD recorder into mpg files for editing. VOB2MPG definitely creates an mpg file for each title in a title set.
