HI there

could anyone please help explain the following issue?

I have a Sony BDP-S490. for months I could plug in a usb hard drive and or flash drive and watch a movie I had saved on there. Now every usb item I plug in I get the error message "USB not recognised". I experimented with the flash drive by reformatting it on my macbook for nearly every type of format but still get the same error message

Why is this happening and why does the BDP-S490 not regognise all usb formats

any help would be appreciated
