please help

ok here is my problem guys, i downloaded a movie in avi format from the internet and i wanted to play it on my dvd payer which supports video cd. I burned the file using nero. After it took awhile to decode it,
it finally burnt the cd. i put it in the dvd player and i got sound but no video. what do need to do to correct this?

Mistake No 1 = Using Nero to encode your AVI to VCD format
Mistake No 2 = Burning before testing the resulting MPG file on the PC

Get TMPGEnc and VirtualDub, use them to convert your AVI to Standard VCD and then use VCDEasy (or Nero) to author and burn your MPG after you have tested it plays correctly.
