    I have a VCD player from sharp (DX-V788W).
    It does not play normal dvd's. Is this the deal on VCD players?? or can it also be made Region Free!!!! 8)

    I cant claim to know the product you mention, but if it is sold as a VCD player then it will play VCD's not DVD's. They use a different physical media (CD vs DVD). VCD's do not have regional encoding so that is not an issue.
