I saw all the expensive headlight kits that remove the sun damage, but this 3M cheapee kit is awesome. My headlights look like brand new, with no trace of any oxidation or yellowing.
Took about 45 minutes, none of it hard work. That 3M really puts out good stuff. And in this case, it's even cheaper than the competition.
And they give you enough product to do two cars.

I was at the gas station and a guy walked up saying he had this perfect spray can stuff for cleaning the headlight and wanted to show me. He sprayed in on waited about 30sec and wiped it off, shazzam clean and almost looking new again. The can cost $25 bucks. I gave him a $10 tip to do the other one. He squawked at first, then took the money and cleaned the other one while I pumped my gas....LOL

You'll probably be glad you only spent $10 in a couple days. Those lenses have to be sanded to do a proper restore.

I sold the car a few week later
I tried the rubbing compound stuff and it wasn't any good. I figured I'd have to wet sand it... -
Yeah, it sounds crazy, to sand plastic. I bought my kit a couple months ago and was scared for a long time that i would screw it up. That's why i started this post so other people might get enough nerve to do it.
I was amazed too.
The rubbing compound is only the final step, and you use a sponge for that. There's four passes with 400, 800, 1000, and 2000 sandpaper first. But it's quite easy because plastic is soft.
Hardest part is masking off the edges first. After that, you gotta be a real douche to screw it up.Last edited by budwzr; 15th Oct 2014 at 19:06.

Not hijack this thread, but I am looking for something that does the same for glass. Specifically a glass table top that has scratches.

The kit i bought says not for use on glass. The only thing i know about glass is that if you paint the back of a bathroom wall mirror the backing will never flake off from moisture.

I also used one of these kits, and with excellent results. I had previously tried applying something by hand, and that did nothing. My only real issue with my particular 3M kit was this it did not come with any UV protectant.
