  1. I ripped all seasons of an old 1990's show called Avonlea and it looks to be interlaced. I am trying to watch the videos over plex on my iPhone and the plex iOS app does not have deinterlace support, what is the best software to batch deinterlace the mp4 files without a significant loss in quality? thanks in advance!

What did you convert to mp4 with?

Handbrake has a deinterlace filter....but you should really use the dvd/vob source directly instead of the mp4.

  3. For a video to be deinterlaced properly it has to be encoded properly and the player has to know it's interlaced.

  4. I've already ripped 91 episodes. How can I batch them through the shell with handbrake and decomb?

You can use vidcoder for easier batch conversion. But try one first and see how it looks.

Or are you a mac os x only user?
