Subtitles filling screen?

Hi all! I used the SubtitleExtractor GUI from VideoUpdaterTools (1.4.1) to extract an SRT file from an MP4 file, but when I burn the file to a disc the subtitle is stretched to the point where it more than fills the screen. I've attached a screenshot of VLC playing the burnt DVD, and when I just play the file in VLC the subs don't show up at all. Any idea how I would fix this so I can burn the disc normally?

Did you convert to dvd-video? With what?

Perhaps upload the .srt file.
