  1. Here is the situation currently. I have 3 xbox 360's that I use to access a PC running Media Center. I have a bunch of .MKV 1080 files that I want to convert into .WMV or another Media Center compatible format that would also be compatible with a fireTV or Roku in the future.

I searched and found a bunch of posts from 2010 but wanted to see if I could get more current info on encoders that are easy to use and setup that will convert .MKV to .WMV with 5.1. Appreaciate any help on this matter anyone can provide.

Do you have to use windows media center? I would try another media server like kodi (xmbc), tversity, etc and see if they support mkvs to xbox 360 directly.
