    Amazon Link: http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-Region-Player-Upconverting-DV-3032/dp/B00D0EP68Y

Since my Philips 5990 died last night I spent hours looking over different models from places like 220 electronics and world import, and hopefully I made a good choice going with this pioneer from amazon. (I dont think its modded, just a foreign version that comes out the box like that) Anyone know?

Was looking for PAL, NTSC, and divx playback which this Pioneer does.

Owners of this Pioneer player any suggestions?... Apparently you just plug it in out of the box and you can watch whatever region disc you want. Someone mentioned changing the output settings in the player to NTSC to be able to watch PAL... (which I assume means it will read the PAL disc and output or convert the video to NTSC "on the fly" which is what I need... my Philips 5990 did that. BTW also this model is the karaoke version. Supposedly better than the Non-Karaoke one.

Your comments and input are greatly appreciated

    Thank You!

There is one important feature you will need missing from the product description(the ability to convert PAL to NTSC and vice versa on the fly), but one of the reviews/comments says it can do it.
Region Free us USELESS to Americans unless the player can also convert between PAL and NTSC.

Well from a couple reviewers they said to put the output to NTSC... so Im assuming it converts it. Have to read more about the player.

Here is the same model. http://gandhiappliances.com/shop/all-region-code-free-dvd-players/pioneer-dv-3032kv-10...ee-dvd-player/

Little more description than amazon... apparently "Built-in memory free video converter allows playback of PAL or NTSC movies on a NTSC TV."

Not entirely sure how a memory free converter works but hopefully it all works up to expectation for me
