I know nothing about video editting and such. I want to learn more about it, but need help going in the right direction. All the movies I have or downloaded are in avi format. Would it best to convert them to mpegs, then burn them as vcds or svcds? If so what would be the best way to do this? I would like the end result to be at least close to DVD quality, but fitting on no more then 2 80 min CDRWs.

  2. If you want close to DVD quality, forget about using divx as your source.

As a newbie you need to do alot of reading on the leftside of this page start at what is and then how too's. You need to do this to help you understand what everything is. And don't be afraid to ask questions. Just remember a good day is when you learn something new
May the force be with you.
