Barring an answer more in line with what you are looking for, I'll simply suggest the following.
On a previous job, a guy I worked with told me that he had NEVER in his life bought ink - EVER - for a printer he owned. He told me that when one of the ink cartridges ran out, he just threw the printer away and bought a new one. He said that the new ones were always better and had more features than the one old. Do keep in mind that he printed stuff rarely, but there's a point to that. I learned from him that if I ever have a printer that starts acting up, unless there is a really simple fix, it's not worth the effort to try to "fix" the printer. It's just better to buy a new printer. Home printers, if they are a few years old, are usually not worth the effort and if you just buy a new printer you'll get something better that is new rather than trying to keep fixing an older printer. Just something to think about. Your model printer is 8+ years old. I think I'd just get a new one if it was me.
