    First of all, Happy New Year everyone. I was just wondering if anyone here is knowledgeable in radio communications because I was thinking of getting a pair of walkie talkies. I was browsing through amazon but maybe someone here has a better idea of what and where to get better walkie talkies.

    I bought a pair from Radio Shack years ago. I get about 1 mile distance. Even though specs say 5 miles. When a hill is in the way you loose the signal. New ones are much better.
