Since you posted in the conversion forum I guess, that you are talking about MPEG audio. DVD2AVI will demultiplex MPEG audio. Just make sure you selected the proper track, usually track 1.

DVD2AVI can not decode DTS tracks. But actually the first track should never be a DTS track (if the DVD is authored properly). However, you ripped with smartripper and I hope you let it create the INFO.txt file too. So have a look at that info file. At the "stream info" section you will find all copied audio tracks.

  8. just change tracks and preview it (f5 i believe)...the info box will tell you what kind of audio that track has...if it sez DD something, then you will be able to decode..if it's blank, then it's either something dvd2avi can't decode or doesn't have audio on it

    audio checklist

    track number: try several tracks
    channel format: auto select
dolby digital: decode (or demux if you use a different decoder)
    Mpeg audio: demux

  10. Oh yeah, you all just saved me some time. Ive been using DVD2AVI for about four months, and I've tried to use the preview option but it never seemed to work. So I basically ignored it and just kept at it until I found the audio track. However, after reading this esp -- poopyheads suggestion, I just saved my self some time on Gladiator. Couldnt find a track. So on the statistics window I saw DTS (ie dont work) so I tried another and found a DD as mentioned above - was the soundtrack cept it had commentary, I was able to catch it by aborting and viewing the file made thus far. Oh yeah, the preview works but you gotta stop the current transfer. He he he....The things Im learning. To think, I should be working on my CS401 project, instead I rip!!

    Thanks again.
