I'm a newbie, so am not sure if this is an apprpriate site for my query.
I want to be able to convert videos (without audio)
from psv to avi format. None of the Internet offers acknowledge the existance of PSV.
Has anyone any ideas?
The AVIs would be edited/played on a Virtual Dub Application, which seems quite fussy
about the AVIs details, e.g. bit 8 not set etc., etc.

Online apps? Use a ffmpeg frontend like xmedia recode, etc. Or try the directshow filter for virtualdub. The PSV format is one of 2 (or 4 if you include audio) options available when saving video in Hauppauge WinTV Nexus (live in Internet) [Pretty Strange Version?]
The other is MPG. I want to be able to edit/play such with VirtualDub, but that only likes AVI. Now I've converted several files from MPG or PSV to AVI using on-line apps, but VirtualDub always finds something wrong with the results. Stymied.Last edited by Baldrick; 2nd Dec 2014 at 04:34.
