hd pvr capture fails

i bought an hd pvr off ebay from a wisconsinite that did not come with the software disk but i found most if not all of it on line but when i hit record then end the recording i get a CAPTURE FAILED caption.

Sorry if this seems like a dumb question, but it's not clear from your post whether you installed the driver. Also, your computer details do not show your OS or whether it's 32-bit or 64-bit.

What software are you using to capture? TME? It's been awhile, but IIRC you'll need a couple updates to make TME work on a 64 bit OS.

Just to be sure, are you using an HD PVR (no HDMI) or the HD PVR 2 (has HDMI)?

Even without knowing what software you have, I should warn you that any Arcsoft capture software provided with a Hauppauge HD capture device has been customized to work with that device. A standard version of the same software won't work for capture.
